The non-lucrative residence visa enables non-European citizens to reside in Spain with their family, with sufficient economic means, without carrying out work or professional activity for a period of more than 90 days and the obligation to stay for 6 months and one day throughout the period. year (not consecutive).
 

However, you can invest with this residence. In other words, you can make any type of investment (for example, in shares, housing...) and thus obtain an extra source of income. The procedure to obtain this residence permit is divided into two parts: the initial visa application in the country of origin or where the legal residence is. Then, obtaining the residence card once you arrive in Spain, within the maximum time indicated on the visa.

The legal procedure usually takes from start to finish, approximately between 5 or 6 months (it can be less). In cases where the visa is denied, an appeal can be filed.

The first card is for 1 year, and it can be renewed later for 2 more years, plus another 2 years until after these 5 years, the long-term residence card is requested.
