The
Union Citizen Family Residence Card
It is a card that is issued to those people who are relatives of a Spanish citizen or of some other state of the European Union. It is also possible that it can be applied to those family members of citizens of Switzerland or of some other country that is part of the Agreement on the European Economic Area.
This card can be processed for:
- Direct relatives. We are talking about the spouse or de facto partnerregistered.
If the couple is not registered, it will be necessary to demonstrate a minimum of two years of coexistence or have children in common. - First degree descendants. The children of both the EU citizen and their spouse, minors and/or dependents.
- First degree ascendants. This procedure also applies to the parents of the EU national, as long as they are in their care.
- Extended Family: These are those who do not fall into the previous groups, such as siblings and other subjects, dependents, who are part of the immediate family circle and who, due to health problems, must be under the care of the EU citizen.
